This card was published in 1938. It shows photographer Gerda Taro being crushed by a tank while covering the Spanish Civil War. She was twenty-five years old, and probably the first woman photographer ever killed in action.

Gerda was the companion of the famous war photographer, Robert Capa. They began their professional careers in Paris by inventing fictious names and identities in order to sell photos.
